PROJECT UP-START

What we do?

Project UP-START is an initiative that assists our neediest students with school enrollment, transportation, free lunch, and case management. Additionally, through donations and support, resources for these students and their families are made available for new school uniforms, gift cards, and payment of senior events such as prom and Grad Bash.

So far in the 2021-2022 School Year, we have helped over 5,800 students in transition.

What we stand for

Project UP-START, under the Department of Title I Administration, is the Education Program for Children and Youth Living in Transition in Miami-Dade. The core of the program is to prevent children and youth in transition from being stigmatized, separated, segregated, or isolated.

Undies for Everyone

Project UP-START Program helped form a new partnership with a national non-profit called Undies for Everyone who donated $41,356 pairs of boys’ and girls’ underwear for homeless students. Sprayregen Foundation donated $25,000 to provide gift cards to homeless students, mostly UHY (Unaccompanied Homeless Youth) students during the pandemic.
