FNEI Highlights and Achievements

  • FNEI has brought over 12 new Computer, STEAM, STEM, tech, and Dance Labs to our Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

  • FNEI has developed two Endowment Funds which provides support to the Francis A. Metcalfe Scholarship and the Jose Milton Performing Arts Center. Over $300,000 have been donated to support the Performing Arts Center, and 8 Francis Metcalfe Scholarships have been awarded to date!

  • In 2021-22, the FNEI Scholarship was awarded. $90,000.00 was raised to give $1,300.00 scholarships to college-bound, Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ High School students. Since then, we have given out over $100,000 of scholarships, and will continue to provide over $50,000 annually. The FNEI scholarship now provides $1,500.00 to graduating M-DCPS Seniors.

  • In 2023, FNEI opened a new Computer Labs. These computer labs will be equipped with all new technology to help students in providing a better learning experience. In 2024, FNEI opened a brand new Garden at Phyllis Wheatly Elementary School with the help of Young Professionals.

  • FNEI Raised over $500,000 at the 2024 FTLOL Gala to fund District initiatives, such as the Cultural Passport, student scholarships, and computer labs.

  • FNEI and M-DCPS supported the 2024 Summer Youth Internship Program for the ninth consecutive year. With the support of the County, The Children’s Trust, and Career Source, over $5 Million was received to support over 2,700 student internships.

  • Since 2016, FNEI has raised over $320,000 for participating schools in the Superintendent’s 5K Challenge - Race for Education. At the 8th annual Superintendent’s 5k Challenge - A Race for Education on March 2024, there were over 5,700 participants who raced and raised over $100,000. Proceeds were shared with participating M-DCPS Schools.
